Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor on the planet by most of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandfather taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to learn every little thing he could about the game. Phil routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the detrimental feedback from other people destroy his ambition of becoming one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

Phil began competing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game.
