Online poker has become world celebrated recently, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years many variants on the first poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the house rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that instance, both you and the house and of course all of the different players are given 5 cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you must in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call wager’s value is akin to your beginning bet, meaning that the risks will have doubled. Bowing out means that your wager goes directly to the house. After the wager comes the showdown. If the house does not have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, plus a sum on par with the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The dealer pony’s up cash equal to your ante and fixed odds on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
